Ahead of her 30th birthday, Taylor Swift is sharing 30 things she learned before turning 30. “I’ve come to a realization that I need to be able to forgive myself for making the wrong choice, trusting the wrong person, or figuratively falling on my face in front of everyone,” she writes. “Step into the daylight and let it go.” Link in bio for the full essay penned by ELLE’s April cover star.⁣ ⁣ ELLE April 2019:⁣ Editor-in-chief: @ninagarcia⁣ Creative director: #stephengan Cover star: @taylorswift⁣ Photographer: @benhassett⁣ Stylist: @paulcavaco⁣ Wearing: @burberry⁣ Hair: @sergenormant⁣ Makeup: @francelledaly, @lovecraftbeauty⁣ Nails: @DeniseBourne37, @deborahlippmann⁣ Producer: Kristen Terry, @roscoproduction

In the letter titled “30 Things I Learned Before Turning 30,” Swift revealed her biggest fears (violence, notably after the Manchester Arena bombing and Vegas concert shooting, and stalkers), her best advice (it’s OK to fail, so long as you try and try again), and her love for experimenting with fashion (even if you do make a few missteps along the way), among other revelations.

But we’re here for her three go-to recipes for dinner parties, one being Garten’s “Real Meatballs and Spaghetti” dish.

Garten’s spaghetti recipe — which is so popular, it has a five-out-of-five star review with 579 reviews — uses three kinds of meat for the meatballs: veal, pork and beef. It’s a relatively simple recipe, but Swift wrote that she modifies the recipe by using packaged bread crumbs and only ground beef for the meat.

Swift’s other two dinner party recipes include Nigella Lawson’s Mughlai Chicken, and Jamie Oliver’s Chicken Fajitas with Molé Sauce.

Buried within the list, Swift also gave her best cooking tip: get yourself a garlic crusher; it’s a “whole game changer,” she wrote. Plus, she can to calculate celsius to fahrenheit. Impressive.
