Gabrielle Union – Parenthood, Surrogacy, And Recovery From Side Effects Of IVF

After years of waiting, the new judge on the panel of America’s Got Talent – Gabrielle Union has been blessed with a baby girl Kaavia via surrogate. When asked for her plans on parenting, the proud mother shared that she wants to be the type of parent her daughter can approach any time she wants. Filled with emotions of care, tender love and loyalty, this doting mother wants her little one to make her own choices without the pressure of being judged as she grows up.

For Gabrielle, who had been struggling with infertility for many years before the arrival of her newborn, surrogacy was not that easy to embrace as she always wanted herself to carry her own child. It was due to Adenomyosis that her body didn’t allow her to hold the embryo because of which she went through several miscarriages which almost left her devastated. Unlike others who consider factors like religion and race when it comes to choosing a surrogate, all that Kaavia’s loving mother wanted was a book-lover.

Although surrogacy proved to be a blessing for the Bring It On actress, she had to struggle a lot before she could fully recover from the side effects that were gifted by unsuccessful IVF treatments. To maintain her well-being, Gabrielle relies on an active lifestyle that includes soaking vitamin D from the sun, hitting the gym and training with her other kids (her husband Dwyane Wade’s sons and nephew).

Other than that, this cool mom (as she calls herself) in her mid-40s sticks to a fitness regime that includes Pilates, weight training and 15-20 minutes of cardio along with a healthy diet. An avid reader, this strong mum is proving every bit that you don’t need to compulsorily bear a child physically to be a true mother.
