When you’re a top supermodel, you have access to the best trainers, dietitians, and dermatologists to maintain a runway ready appearance. Heidi Klum is a great example: She’s a Victoria’s Secret model, TV personality, and fashion designer—who also happens to have a toned body, glowing skin, and timeless beauty.

But the 46-year-old icon has always made it clear that she likes to keep things super-simple when it comes to her routine—so naturally, diet and exercise come first.

“I eat very healthy and I run on the treadmill a little bit. There is no secret shake or secret pill. I wish there was. I just love eating good and healthy food. I don’t go to dinner a lot,” Klum recently told TODAY.com. “We cook every day. I have four children. It’s about cooking fresh food every day and not caring it too much. Eating home-cooked at meals at a specific time. I eat at six and that’s kind of it.”

That simplicity is present in her skincare routine, too, and she likes to keep things pretty affordable. In December, Klum told Redbook that she washes her face with baby shampoo (brilliant!) followed by a light moisturizer on top—no toners, no fancy serums, that’s it!

Her go-to product? Klum has consistently raved about the Mario Badescu Buttermilk Moisturiser, which you can snag for under $30 at Mecca.

“I use it on my face. It’s very light,” Klum told TODAY. “When I use very rich creams, I break out in pimples. I’ve been using it for years. It doesn’t clog my pores.”

That’s because this moisturizer contains lactic acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid that gently exfoliates the skin, lightens hyperpigmentation, and slowly helps smooth out the appearance of fine lines. It also contains aloe vera and allantoin, anti-inflammatory ingredients that soothe redness and irritation.

If you need further convincing, here’s a look at Klum completely makeup-free:

It’s safe to say testers of the product are just as loyal to it: “I’ve been using it for 10 years because it’s so gentle on my face, and helps my face feel clean and moist and ready to go in the morning!” one reviewer wrote on Amazon.

“Feels really light not greasy at all,” another added. “Smells good and is not overwhelming. Been using it for a few weeks and I have noticed my pores look smaller and not as oily.”

So if you’ve been looking for a lightweight moisturizer that happens to keep your skin baby-smooth, take this as your sign. If it’s good enough for a top model, we’ll take our chances!
