Laura Henshaw’s Post About Self-Isolation Weight Gain Will Hit You Right In The Feels

“I wanted to remind you how important it is to remember NOT to worry if your body changes a little during this time,” she captioned her latest IG post. “I know we speak about this a lot with @keepitcleaner but I feel now is a really important time to remind ourselves that our weight/ size does NOT define us or have a thing to do with our worth.”

I wanted to remind you how important it is to remember NOT to worry if your body changes a little during this time. I know we speak about this a lot with @keepitcleaner but I feel now is a really important time to remind ourselves that our weight/ size does NOT define us or have a thing to do with our worth. We are sitting more, food is more accessible and we don’t have activities / things on. I have been eating less healthy/ more than usual and that’s ok. I have still been doing my KIC workout most days – for my mind and to give me energy. I promise you nothing bad will happen if our bodies aren’t exactly the same when this time is over!! Try to be careful with yourself with the pressure of any goals you set in this time. Set goals such as – movement, cooking with more veggies (if you have access), drinking more water (things we can control). You don’t have to use this time to lose weight or drop a dress size (if you want to that’s fine) but it’s a stressful, unknown and hard time for everyone and it’s important to remember that ❤️ All will be back to normal soon enough – it is harder said than done but try not to sweat the small stuff so much during this time. I am grateful for my health, my family , having a home, the ability to move my body and it doesn’t matter what the number on the scales says ❤️

Not only are we closer to the kitchen and sitting way more (soz, daily step count), being house-bound hugely impacts how much incidental exercise we’re getting.

“I have been eating less healthy/ more than usual and that’s ok. I have still been doing my KIC workout most days – for my mind and to give me energy,” she continued. “I promise you nothing bad will happen if our bodies aren’t exactly the same when this time is over!!”

Laura’s tip to get through this trying time? Give ourselves a break!

“Try to be careful with yourself with the pressure of any goals you set in this time,” she said. “Set goals such as – movement, cooking with more veggies (if you have access), drinking more water (things we can control). You don’t have to use this time to lose weight or drop a dress size (if you want to that’s fine) but it’s a stressful, unknown and hard time for everyone and it’s important to remember that ❤️”

Btw, she realises this is easier said than done – after all, she’s living it too. “All will be back to normal soon enough… but try not to sweat the small stuff so much during this time. I am grateful for my health, my family, having a home, the ability to move my body and it doesn’t matter what the number on the scales says ❤️”

Words to live by, Laura.
