Nestlé Toll House Releases Worry-Free Edible Cookie Dough
The temptation to eat the leftover cookie dough right off the spoon before you toss the rolled dough into the oven is nothing new. It’s probably the most torturous part of making a fresh batch of gooey, chocolate chip cookies. But now, thanks to Nestlé Toll House, we can eat cookie dough worry-free as the brand has finally launched its newest innovation, Edible Cookie Dough.
Nestlé’s Edible Cookie Dough comes in two glorious flavors: the OG Chocolate Chip and, my personal favorite, Peanut Butter Monster. As the name suggests, the latter isn’t your ordinary peanut butter cookie. Instead, Nestlé folds in oats and candy gems into the dough, hitting your taste buds with a one-two punch.
The Edible Cookie Dough has already been spotted in stores, too. Self-proclaimed ice cream guru and food lover, Eric Koenreich, who goes by @familyfooddude on Instagram, was shopping at Publix Super Market in Sarasota, Florida when he found both flavors sitting near the butter in the dairy aisle.
And two days ago, Nestlé confirmed the release of its Edible Cookie Dough when the brand retweeted Cosmopolitan’s tweet about the new product.
In addition to Publix, Nestlé’s also sells its Edible Cookie Dough for around $4.97 at Meijer, select Walmart stores and selected regional grocery chains — but only through July. So you better get your hands on the 15 oz. tub of Edible Cookie Dough before it sells out.
If you can’t find Nestlé’s Edible Cookie Dough near you, please, for the love of god, do not eat raw cookie dough due to your overwhelming FOMO. As a friendly reminder, eating uncooked dough can make you very sick, according to the Centers for Disease Control. More specifically, the raw eggs can lead to Salmonella, and the raw flour could leave you with a nasty E. coli infection.
Now, for all you vegans out there, don’t fret. Scour the aisles for Ben & Jerry’s Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Chunks, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Chunks and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Chunks. B&J released the vegan-friendly cookie dough back in April, and all three products contain pasteurized eggs and heat-treated flour, making them a safe snack.
Now, go! Eat all the cookie dough to your heart’s content!
