The 74-year-old singer was pictured attending an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle earlier today where he was made a member of the Order of the Companions of Honour by the Prince of Wales. The award, which recognises his charity work in the fight against Aids, is the second royal recognition the singer has received following his knighthood in 1998. However, this time around the singer was worryingly seen using a walking stick in order to support himself after his hip surgery.

Pictured outside Windsor with his partner David Furnish as he displayed his award, the singer also gave a small update on his health to Sky News.

Elton said: “I feel very blessed and very lucky. I have had an amazing life.

“I may not look as if I am 100 percent fit, and I’m not quite, but I am still raring to go and I have a lot more work to do as long as my life goes.”

Despite not being on top form, the singer has remarkably improved health-wise since his last interview with Lorraine where he said that he was in pain “most of the time”.
