15 Years of Global Health Fellows: Lasting Impact in Local Communities
We are proud to celebrate 15 years of the Global Health Fellows (GHF) program, Pfizer’s signature international corporate volunteer initiative. The 2018 class of Fellows will be placed on short-term assignments with seven leading international development organizations to help improve healthcare systems and build local healthcare capacity in underserved communities. Each volunteer assignment helps to address community-specific needs and builds upon Pfizer’s legacy of driving sustainable healthcare solutions worldwide.
The 2018 class will deploy to five countries across Africa and Asia sharing their skills and capabilities with the following organizations:
- Africa Resource Centre
- FHI 360
- PharmAccess Foundation
- Save the Children
- Population Services International
- Management Sciences for Health
- Project HOPE
This year’s class will offer their unique perspectives from diverse professional backgrounds such as information technology, medical, and business strategy. Fellows will apply these skill-sets to help progress key initiatives for our GHF partner organizations, in areas such as non-communicable disease prevention, medical supply chain systems strengthening, and digital solutions for the health workforce.
Since its inception in 2003, the Global Health Fellows program has supported over 350 catalytic projects worldwide, addressing complex global health issues and furthering progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The 2018 Fellows will join the legacy of the 490 colleagues who have volunteered as individual Fellows and teams to help improve healthcare in 50 countries with over 70 partner organizations. We are excited for this year’s class to build on the efforts of 15 years of Global Health Fellows around the world and are proud of the program’s dedication to ensuring that quality healthcare is accessible for those who need it most.
