This Is How The 'Super Blue Blood Moon' Will Affect Your Horoscope
You may have heard that there’s going to be a “super blue blood moon” on January 31. Sounds cool — but what does that actually mean?
Well, according to NASA, a “super moon” occurs when the moon is full at the moment when it’s closest in its orbit to the Earth, making it look super bright. It’s considered “blue” because it’s one of two full moons that happen this month. That same night, the moon will also pass through the Earth’s shadow to create a total lunar eclipse. While it’s in the Earth’s shadow, it will appear reddish—hence the “blood” part. In short, there’s a LOT going on here.
Sure, the moon will look awesome, but the super blue blood moon carries astrological significance as well, says Donna Page, a professional astrologer with a graduate degree in counselling psychology. The super moon is happening when the sun in Aquarius and the moon in Leo are on the node of Neptune, creating a strong Neptunian energy. Translation: No matter your sign, it’s all about following your heart, Page says.
“It is a time when messages from the other side are easier to hear,” Page says. “This eclipse will bring to you an opening to your creative side.” That’s why she recommends practicing mindfulness and meditation to help you get centered.
Just be aware that you might be a little emotional around this time. “This eclipse may bring forward emotions to heal the past from wherever your heart has been stomped on, taken advantage of, or wherever you feel that you have been deceived,” Page says. Still, you won’t dwell on the past. Instead, you’ll be able to forgive people and situations from the past and move on with your life.
You’ll also find yourself looking inward a little more than usual. You’ll take a beat to think about the things you need, emotionally and physically, and how you can better take care of yourself. So, take some time to sit and reflect if you can, and let your mind wander. You’ll probably mull over more than you realise.
Of course, your location on January 31 will dictate whether you can see the super moon and how well. For people on the east coast of Australia, maximum eclipse will occur at 12:30am (11:30pm for Brisbane locals).
