- Christie Brinkley just revealed why she’s no longer a vegetarian on Instagram.
- She explained that she recently added salmon to her diet to help with healing her broken arm from Dancing With the Stars training.

Since breaking her arm on Dancing with the Stars, Christie Brinkley has had to make a few health changes to speed up her recovery. In a new Instagram post, Christie revealed that she’s had to hit pause on her vegetarian lifestyle, by adding fish to her diet.
“I’m a lifelong vegetarian,but I’ve added salmon because it is rich in omega 3 fatty acids which help regulate inflammation that causes joint stiffness and pain and is also excellent source of calcium and vitamin D, which help to maintain bone strength and speed healing …especially important for me now!” she wrote in the post. She’s also eating a “rainbow diet,” filled with lots of colorful fruits and veggies, as well as nuts like almonds. Plus, Christie throws some turmeric in her smoothies and tea “for its potent anti-inflammatory properties.”
Not only that, but she’s making sure to eat foods that give her a daily dose of Vitamin C, which, she said, “helps your body make collagen, which is part of your cartilage, tendons, and ligaments that cushion your joints and makes your joints strong.”
While training for this season of Dancing with the Stars, Christie took a nasty fall, leaving her with multiple broken bones, a dislocated wrist, and surgery to insert a metal plate in her wrist.
As a result, she left the show and asked her 21-year-old daughter, Sailor, to replace her. After some viewers were suspicious that Christie faked her injury and subbed in her daughter on purpose (which, oooookay), the model posted photos from her hospital visits and x-rays.
Broken arms often take about six to eight weeks to heal, and the injury happened mid-September, so even though she’s not out of the woods yet, Christie’s arm should be better in time for the new year.
