Popeyes Is Selling a Mardi Gras "Beadbox" So You Can Wear Your Fried Chicken Like a Necklace

You’ll never fully appreciate your purple and green beads after hearing about Popeyes’ genius upgrade to the Mardi Gras tradition. The chain created a Mardi Gras Beadbox, which essentially allows you to wear fried chicken around your neck. Let’s all just take a moment to appreciate this brilliant innovation which will do wonders for the drunchies.

In order to receive the bead box (available exclusively in New Orleans), you must show proof of purchase by ordering inside the Canal Street Popeyes’ location. You can fill the box with whatever fits, but meal options include: three piece chicken tenders + a side and a biscuit for $6, or a two-piece bone-in chicken with a side and biscuit for $5.

Then, designate one hand as drink-holder, and the other as chicken-grabber. Anyone walking through the streets of New Orleans with a box of fried chicken around their neck definitely wins Mardi Gras.

Popeyes’ Mardi Gras beads will be available on Tuesday, March 5. As Popeyes notes, “No flashing required.”
