Starbucks Just Dropped A 'Bright Magenta' Strawberry Frappuccino
Out with millennial pink and in with magenta, says Starbucks (and fashion week). While the coffee giant already released two new summer Frappuccinos — the Ultra Caramel and Triple Mocha — it’s marching on with a third, and the new offering is just as colorful as you want a summer blend to be. Sticklers for the ROYGBIV spectrum will be quick to note though that, by magenta, Starbs really means red.
Like the first two additions, the Serious Strawberry Frappuccino is a reimagining of an old drink: It amps up the Strawberries and Creme frapp with layers of strawberry fruit puree and vanilla whipped cream. The base is made with ice, milk, and a strawberry infusion blend, so there’s no coffee (or caffeine) in this one.
Serious Strawberry is a permanent addition to Starbucks’ menu, and it’s joined by a new Sous Vide Egg Bite flavor. If you haven’t tried the Bacon and Gruyere or Egg White and Red Pepper bites yet, they’re basically a play on the muffin tin egg cups that are all over Pinterest, and they make for a pretty filling breakfast on the go. The new flavor has chicken chorizo, chipotle salsa, and corn tortilla strips inside.
Last on the permanent addition list: The salty-sweet Kitchen Sink Cookie, made with pretzels, marshmallows, pecans, and chocolate chunks. Starbucks has really leaned into the bakery additions this summer (and who’s complaining?!), adding Frosted Doughnut Cake Pops, Confetti Sugar Cookies, and Summer Berry Swirl Croissants to the menu for the next few months.
All of these exciting new summer items will be available in stores starting Tuesday, June 5. AKA tomorrow, so you won’t have to wait long to try them.
