Watch Dr. Pimple Popper Slice Off This Man's 'Cauliflower' Skin Tag

  • Dr. Pimple Popper tackled a huge “cauliflower”-like skin tag in her latest Instagram video.
  • Dr. Pimple Popper snipped off the skin tag with a pair of scissors.
  • Skin tags are common, benign skin growths that often occur on the underarms, neck, or eyelids.

FYI: Pimples aren’t the only thing Dr. Pimple Popper tackles. In her latest video, dermatologist Sandra Lee, MD goes up against something a little less poppable: a skin tag.

In the new Instagram video (which unfortunately doesn’t have sound), Dr. Pimple Popper is seen inspecting a huge skin tag on a man’s hip. “Who likes giant skin tags that look like cauliflower?” Dr. Pimple Popper wrote. She added, “I bet if people saw how easy it can be to remove them, they would see a board certified dermatologist sooner!”

Who likes giant skin tags that look like cauliflower? 🙋🏻‍♀️ I bet if people saw how easy it can be to remove them, they would see a board certified dermatologist sooner! #drpimplepopper

Just FYI: Skin tags (a.k.a., acrochordons), are benign skin growths, according to the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology (AOCD). They’re super common (it’s estimated that nearly half of all adults have at least one), and they typically occur in those who are obese, have diabetes, or have a history of skin tags, per the AOCD.

It’s unknown exactly how skin tags form, but it’s believed that irritation or friction can play a role (skin tags typically form where there are skin folds, like the underarms, neck, or eyelids).

After manhandling the skin tag for a bit (it looks like a cross between a piece of cauliflower and a brain), Dr. Pimple Popper literally just takes a pair of (medical-grade) scissors and slices the entire thing clean off.

Clearly, Dr. Pimple Popper wasn’t kidding when she said the treatment for skin tags “easy”—but that doesn’t mean you should go ahead and slice any of your own skin tags off. Pretty please leave yours up to a dermatologist, who has all of the (sterilized!) necessary tools.
