Gwen Stefani Has Full-On Cruella De Vil Hair Now
Gwen Stefani's platinum blonde hair has been a key part of her signature style since her early No Doubt days. Despite the near-constant bleach, somehow, the musician's hair has always managed to look like it's in its healthiest state. And while she has occasionally dipped into bright colors like pink and blue, her icy hair remains consistent. For a performance on the season finale of The Voice, however, Stefani looked like Cruella De Vil's long-lost twin with her new black-and-white ponytail.
The musician shared a carousel on Instagram featuring a selfie and two short videos showing off her new two-toned hair, which, along with her red lipstick, coordinates perfectly with her blinged-out, checkered outfit and the fiery red leather two-piece she wore on stage.
Hairstylist Sami Knight styled Stefani's hair into a high, all-black ponytail with matching blunt bangs. Her signature platinum blonde could be seen only peeking out right atop her scalp. The black ponytail was slightly curled at the ends for a little bit of bounce, falling a few inches past her collarbone. The fringe stops about an inch above her brows, with two thick, straight tendrils framing her face.
Makeup artist Michael Anthony painted on the impeccable beat for the "Hollaback Girl" singer. Her skin looks glowy and bronzed, while her eyes are lightly defined with some eyeliner, lashes, and brown shadow in her crease. The bright red pigment that sits on her lips is the perfect addition to the look — and classic Gwen Stefani.
While some fans were not feeling this new hairstyle, we're loving Stefani's take on the two-toned hair trend. We've seen the contrasting look with mullets, braids, and the chunky face-framing highlights trend that made a resurgence last year. And between Stefani and Emma Stone playing Cruella De Vil, it looks like black-and-white hair may be having a major moment this summer.
