Ouai Is Launching a Pet Shampoo for Dogs Who Are Fancy AF

As all pet parents know, your pet — your best friend, confidant, and creature you like more than most humans — deserves the best of everything, and that includes hair products (or rather, fur products). Thankfully, Ouai has got them covered.

The Kardashians' longtime hairstylist and permanent Instagram fixture Jen Atkin is releasing a $28 Pet Shampoo via her hair-care brand, Ouai. It works on all types of animals, from "Pomeranians to pigs to pussycats," according to Ouai's website, and is basically like "a spa day for your pet," which apparently in high demand, according to Atkin.

"We had a big social demand," she told Allure, explaining that the Ouai team noticed people tagging photos of their dogs using various human shampoos. "We’re always checking in asking people want to see from us next, and that was something that everyone was kind of pushing for."

If you've ever had the pleasure of testing one of Ouai's human products (like its Air Dry Foam), you know that they ooze Kardashian-level luxury. The pet shampoo is no slacker either, made with "odor-fighting cleansers" as well as apple cider vinegar, aloe, and hibiscus extracts to keep your pet's skin hydrated and fur feeling velvety-soft and extra pet-able. And the good news is that it's scented with the same Italian lemon, Turkish rose, jasmine sambac, iris, lily, and white musk notes that Ouai's other products are, so you and your dog/cat/pig can now smell like twins.

Although the scent is the same, the formula has been tweaked from the people versions of Ouai's shampoos to ensure it’s safe for animals and focused on their fur and skin's needs. “As we were working on it, we were all coming together and deciding what the best ingredients are going to be for the dog shampoo,” Atkin told Allure. “Apple cider vinegar is something across the board we all thought was really important. I actually didn’t know the importance of aloe leaf, and our product-development team brought that to the table. I’ve had dogs in the past who have had really sensitive, itchy skin, so that came into the ingredient list because that will help soothe those problems."

Though it may seem a little over the top to pay $28 so your dog can have hair as silky-smooth as Kim Kardashian West's, the price actually goes toward a good cause: Ouai will be donating 15 percent of proceeds from sales of the product to the Vanderpump Dog Foundation, which helps to create a better world for dogs globally. And just think: Now your dog can keep up with the Kardashians, too.
