The Beckhams Kids Got Baptized & Have Some Super Famous Godparents
Talk about a celebrity baptism! Soccer icon David Beckham and his wife, designer and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, celebrated the baptism of their two younger children: son Cruz, 14, and daughter Harper, 8. They posted about the event, held in England’s Cotswolds region, on Dec. 21. Guess who stepped up to serve as godparents? None other than actor Eva Longoria and singer Marc Anthony. That’s one high-profile christening.
Victoria Beckham took to Instagram to gush about the special occasion: “Proudest of days today watching Harper and Cruz being baptized in front of our friends and family. So much to be grateful for x With love, VB x I love u @davidbeckham x”
David Beckham also posted on his Instagram feed about the family’s big day:
“Very proud day to see my babies get baptized on such a perfect and beautiful occasion.. Looking as beautiful and as handsome as ever.. We love you HarperSeven and @cruzbeckham @victoriabeckham @brooklynbeckham @romeobeckham,” he wrote.
And godmother Eva Longoria also chimed in on social media with a sweet group shot:
“What an honor to serve as Godmother to the sweetest little girl in the world! Love you #HarperSeven… ”
Aaaaand you know Marc Anthony had to get in on the adorable Instagram tagging:
“So proud of my beautiful boy @cruzbeckham… Thank you for the honor @davidbeckham & @victoriabeckham ! I’m over the moon! Here’s to life! #ImNotMad,” he quipped.
The afterparty included performances by the cast of the Jersey Boys tour, according to David Beckham’s Instagram story thank-you note as well as Hola! USA, which captured the screenshot.
According to Elle, the party was attended by the Beckhams’ other two children, Romeo, 17, and Brooklyn, 20, as well as filmmaker Guy Ritchie and the Rassi family of the Milk Cosmetic empire. Not a bad turnout for a baptism, we’d say.
