Dunkin’s New Avocado Toast Is A Healthier Alternative To A Bagel And Cream Cheese

  • Dunkin’ now sells avocado toast in all of its U.S. stores for $2.99.
  • The avocado spread is made of avocado, sea salt, black pepper, and lemon juice on sourdough bread.
  • The new menu item is definitely a healthier breakfast option compared to others.

Over the past few years, Dunkin’ has added a ton of new savory items to its menu, like the Beyond Sausage Breakfast Sandwich and Snackin’ Bacon. And now, it’s taking on a brunch staple. On Feb. 24, the fast food chain began selling avocado toast at all its U.S. stores.

Dunkin’ describes its new menu offering in a press release as a “creamy, mouthwatering avocado spread made with four simple ingredients: avocado, sea salt, black pepper, and lemon juice.” It’s served on toasted Sourdough Bread that Dunkin’ created using a “true Sourdough starter.” From there, the avo toast is topped with everything bagel seasoning (sesame seeds, poppy seeds, onion, and garlic). The new menu item only costs $2.99—way less than you’d have to fork over at a bougie brunch spot—and it also comes in a special portable box, making it a perfect on-the-go meal or snack. Yummmm.

The avocado toast is an exciting new menu option not only for busy brunch enthusiasts, but also for vegans and vegetarians, since it contains no animal products. But when it comes to nutrition, how does it stack up to other Dunkin’ favorites? Here’s what you need to know:
