Here’s What ‘RHOBH’ Star Garcelle Beauvais Eats To Fuel Her Super Busy Days
Between starring on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, hosting The Real and her new podcast, Going To Bed with Garcelle, and taking care of two teenage boys, Garcelle Beauvais is capital B busy. But, in between the diamond-studded chaos that is the reality TV star/actress/host’s life, Garcelle doesn’t miss any meals.
Her Instagram feed is full of snapshots from the former model’s fabulous foodie life, from a DIY charcuterie board and buttermilk donuts to Korean BBQ and chocolate cake. In the words, or rather IG comment, of RHOBH castmate Crystal Kung Minkoff: “Yummmm.”
While good food is important to Garcelle (as it should be!), her eating philosophy is all about balance between healthy fare and comfort food.Denise’s philosophy is all about moderation. Here’s exactly what that looks like in a typical day.
Breakfast
The Jamie Foxx Show alum begins a typically jam-packed day with a morning smoothie—a new addition to her daily routine. “I wasn’t really a smoothie kind of person, but I’m doing that now,” Garcelle tells Women’s Health while promoting her partnership with TENA, a female health and incontinence brand. “I am adding more nuts into my diet, and I’m definitely eating fruits. I always thought all fruits were good [for you], but I’m finding out that berries are better.”

While smoothies have just received “friend of” Garcelle status, the actress’ favorite fruits have been around since her childhood in Haiti. “I really love mangoes and pineapples—the ones that have more sugar in them, of course,” the Bad Company actress says. “[They’re] the fruits that I grew up with.”
Lunch
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, The Real host loved taking lunch breaks and grabbing post-work cocktails with friends. But, the extra time spent at home meant scrapping leisurely mid-day deals and, ultimately, changed Garcelle’s approach to eating. “I started cooking and cleaning for my kids… and I felt like I worked harder and longer,” she recalls. “… I felt like I was wearing myself to the ground, even though [I was] at home.”
Learn about Garcelle friend’s (and RHOBH alum!) Denise Richards’ daily routine:
She began investing more time in self-care, whether that meant taking a bath, unplugging from her phone and TV, or nourishing her body. “I’m eating better, trying to lose the quarantine pounds that I’ve gained. And, just like everybody else, [I’m] trying to figure it out slowly and in a healthy way,” Garcelle says. “…It’s just finding a balance. I’m not going to go crazy and say, ‘I’m only going to eat protein, I’m never going to have a slice of pizza.’ I can’t do that for me; it has to be a balance.”
Dinner
After starting her day with a healthy breakfast, Garcelle finds that yummy balance by digging into some of her go-to comfort foods at dinnertime. On the menu? Lasagna (her kids’ fave, too!), steak, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. And for dessert? She can’t resist some good ole fashioned Oreo cookies and ice cream.
When it’s time for family dinner, she entices her teenage boys away from their phones and video games with classic, crowd-pleaser meals. “I make pot roast. I make Haitian dishes,” Garcelle says. “I do a little bit of everything.” Yeah, you can say that again.
