Drew Barrymore Shut Down Body-Shaming Stranger
Drew Barrymore has recently shared her epic response to a stranger who congratulated her on a non-existent pregnancy.
The topic came up during The Hollywood Reporter’s roundtable discussion about women in comedy, which also featured Rachel Brosnahan, Alison Brie, Tracee Ellis Ross, Debra Messing, Molly Shannon and Frankie Shaw.
“I’d gained a bunch of weight, and I was in a restaurant, and a woman goes, ‘God, you have so many kids.’” the 43-year-old actor recalls.
“And I was like, ‘Well, two.’ And she goes, ‘And obviously one on the way.'”
Drew did not hold back.
“I looked at her and, for the first time in my life, I go, ‘No, I’m just f–king fat.'”
Honestly, when will people learn that asking a woman whether she’s pregnant is NEVER ok?!
Dear you. You are strong. @deardrew get one too.

The mum-of-two also opened up about ageism in the acting industry.
“I think I’m just so [nervous] to ever go back to having no career,” she said. “I know what it’s like to be told, ‘You’re done for a while, sit on ice in the black-list corner.’ And I revived my career — I started producing and having success with films for, like, 20 years and then I had kids and I stepped back. But when I [found myself] all of a sudden a single mom, I kind of had to go back to work and I didn’t know how to do that with kids and I was in a freak spiral.”
She says that when she got a lead role on Santa Clarita Diet, she was willing to do anything.
“Then on season two and three, I was like, ‘Maybe I’m of value to this show.’”
