Plus-Sized Model Who Was Fat-Shamed On Twitter Hits Back In The Best Way
A plus-sized blogger has won herself a legion of online fans after taking down a body-shamer who used her photograph to create a derogatory meme.
South African beauty Lesego Legobane, known on Twitter as ‘ThickLeeyonce,’ was shocked to find that her image had been featured in a sexist tweet by Leyton Mokgerepi on Tuesday.
The rapper had shared two images of women posing in swimsuits – petite model Joelle Kayembe on the left and 24-year-old Lesego on the right – along with the caption: “Girls that I like vs girls that like me.”
But as a proud body-positive activist Lesego was quick to put the jerk back in his place.
“I don’t like you,” she wrote.
Her brilliant response has since been retweeted by more than 313,000 thousand people and liked nearly 965,000 times. Even celebrities such as Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj and Ava Divernay favourited it.
“I hate it when men think that fat girls are desperate and that we like every other guy ‘cause ‘we don’t have options’,” Lesego told Buzzfeed.
“It’s utter nonsense. I can be fat and still be out of your league.”
