Jennifer Lopez’s Blonde Bob Is the Fall Hair Inspiration We Need

Even before the pumpkin spice lattes started to make their appearances, signaling the arrival of fall, we'd already chatted with experts and looked to the runways to predict beauty trends for the cooler months. Hairstylist Justine Marjan previously told Allure to expect more people to get bob haircuts. "I think people are so desperate for a cut after salons have been closed for several months, they just want all their hair cut off," she said. 

The short cut is serving as fall inspiration for stylist Chris Appleton, who is pushing for bobs to be one of the biggest trends of the season by sharing on Instagram examples of bobs he has styled on celebrities over the last year. One throwback photo he posted is of Jennifer Lopez with a super sleek, blonde-highlighted bob. 

The Hustlers star has been loyal to her medium-length hair in a light brown-to-blonde ombré, for the most part, but the bluntness of this gorgeous shoulder-grazing bob is a completely different vibe — and we love it. It's clear the flat iron used was hot because this hair is Sleek with a capital S. The light golden-blonde hue blends in seamlessly with the rest of her light brown hair, and the brightest strands frame her face perfectly. 

Even though it's a shorter haircut, bobs have quite a bit of versatility, and Appleton proves this with a look once sported by singer Dua Lipa. This bob is both darker and slightly longer than J Lo's, with piece-y bangs that fall right below Lipa's bold brows and graduate to longer strands at the temples. Bangs can add that "wow" factor with a new haircut, as you can see here, and they come in a variety of styles, allowing you to choose the look that works best for you.
