The Internet Is Losing It Over This ASOS Model's 'Back Rolls'
When it comes to embracing diversity, ASOS is doing something seriously right. Not only was the online retailer previously applauded for refusing to retouch one of their model’s stretch marks, it recently announced plans to make its website more inclusive by featuring snaps of different sized women in the same dress. But if that wasn’t sending a strong enough message that they are championing the bo-po movement, this certainly will.
Another unedited model has been featured sans airbrushing – and this time, it’s her (perfectly ordinary) back rolls that are fully on show. Of course, the internet is praise hand emojiing the shiz outta it:
“Look at this gorgeous model and her cute back rolls just out here to show women that their bodies are normal and that real life isn’t photo-shopped and filtered,” tweeted plus-sized model Callie Thorpe.
“Everytime I see a roll on a model it’s like YAS QUEEN YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT YOUR BODY IS A TEMPLE AND I WORSHIP YOU which is a fairly normal response I feel,” added another.
But even better was this response by Natalia Lorenzo herself (aka, the model in the pic):
“OHHH YEAH THAT’S MEEEEEE.”
And yeah, while we all can agree that a woman with back rolls shouldn’t be a big deal – considering the fashion industry has traditionally been all about the size 6 life, we’re welcoming the change.
It’s a yes from us, ASOS.
