Cardi B on Keeping It Real About Liposuction: ‘I Don’t Like Lying’

Cardi B has her reasons for being an open book. The rapper discussed her decision to speak out about going under the knife for liposuction in a new interview.

“It was important for me because I don’t like lying about things,” she told E! News on Thursday, May 9, noting that she plans to discuss the process more in-depth in days to come.

The former reality star, 26, said that she wants women to know that having the procedure is no walk in the park. “Like, when you see somebody that had lipo, you think that they just go into the doctor’s and like, boop, you come out and you look amazing, but it’s actually, like, a very long process, recovery,” she said. “It actually takes like a little bit more than three or four months.”

She added: “The stages is [sic] very frustrating. … Sometimes it gets a little bit discouraging, you have to get like, your massages all the time, and sometimes, it might not come out how you want it to be.”

The “Money” singer confessed to the procedure while performing at the Beale Street Music Festival on Sunday, May 5.

“I should have canceled today,” she told the crowd. “Moving too much is gonna f–k up my lipo.”

She also revealed that she’s not opposed to getting more. According to Vibe, she followed her confession up by saying, “I still feel like I got a lot of love handles right here. It’s not much but it’s like — I’m used to having, like, a real tight stomach … I might just get a little lipo, you know what I’m sayin’?”

The Love & Hip Hop: New York alum copped to going through with breast augmentation earlier this month, telling Entertainment Tonight, “I just got my boobs redone. I feel good, but then sometimes I feel like not, you know? [When] your skin is stretched out. Yes, my daughter f–ked me up. She did, she so did.”

The Grammy winner previously discussed her plans to undergo the surgery in an Instagram video in September. “My tits were already a little low-low, you know what I’m saying, ‘cause I got my tits done when I was 19 and I never wore a bra and s–t, you know what I’m saying? But when I was pregnant, my s–t was looking nice though, nice. I was, like, ‘Oh s–t.’ Now though? Now Kulture did me filthy,” she said in the clip. “I don’t give a f–k. If y’all mother–s see me gone in November or December, I’m getting my tits done. I don’t give a f–k. Matter of fact, I’m not even gonna call it surgery. I’m just gonna say a titty renovation.”

Cardi B gave birth to her daughter Kulture, 22 months, with husband Offset in July 2018.
