Beyond Meat’s New Plant-Based Ground Beef Is Going To Make Your Vegan Tacos So Tasty

  • Beyond Meat announced that its new Beyond Beef plant-based ground product arrives in retail stores this week.
  • The latest innovation comes closer to traditional ground beef in flavor, look, and texture.
  • Beyond Beef contains coconut oil and cocoa butter to create a marbled effect and juicy ground beef-like texture.

If you’ve ever thought about chopping up your Beyond Burger to make, say, delicious tacos, you’re in luck. Beyond Meat just launched a new product called Beyond Beef, designed to simulate traditional ground beef right down to the texture, flavor, and color. It hits retail shelves across the country this week, and the little package comes with big promises.

Previously, you could add Beyond Meat’s Beyond Beef Crumbles to pump up the protein in plant-based meals. This frozen meat-alternative worked well enough, but Beyond Beef goes well, beyond, and is almost indistinguishable from ground beef.

Beyond Beef contains zero GMOs, soy, or gluten and promises to look, cook, and taste exactly like ground beef, juiciness included. The big update is marbling, which will make the faux-beef melt and tenderize just like the real deal. The meat-substitute company says Beyond Beef is versatile enough to use in virtually any ground beef recipe. (Mind blown.)

The wait is over! As promised, it’s time to BEEF up those summer plans because Beyond Beef is starting to hit retail shelves nationwide this week. Beyond Beef is the first plant-based ground meat made without GMOs, soy or gluten to deliver the same culinary versatility, meaty texture and juiciness of traditional ground beef but with 25% less sat fat! Not only can it be used in virtually any ground beef recipe, but with marbling intended to melt and tenderize like beef, this new innovation is bound to satisfy vegans and carnivores alike.Click the link in bio to see where this delicious groundbreaking product is starting to roll out. “This plant-based ground meat allows consumers to enjoy all the culinary versatility of ground beef, with the added nutritional and environmental benefits of eating plant-based meat,” Ethan Brown, Beyond Meat Founder and CEO, said in a statement.

So, what exactly is in the latest Beyond Beef? For starters, one four-ounce serving is packed with 20 grams of protein from peas, mung bean, and rice. This new protein blend offers “a more fibrous texture” according to the press release.

Beyond Beef also has six grams of saturated fat per serving. The color, which changes as it cooks, comes from beets. Finally, coconut oil and cocoa butter are responsible for the marbled effect and juicy ground beef-like texture.

That’s not all. Your beloved Beyond Burgers will soon feature “now even meatier” labels indicating that they’ve been upgraded with the new juicy recipe and marbling, per Beyond Meat’s press release.

Time to fire up the grill.
