Domino’s Shared A Hack For Keeping Microwaved Pizza Crust Crispy And It’s Genius

If you really think about it, ordering a pizza is kind of like meal prep. Like, unless you have a ton of people in your house, chances are you’re going to have leftovers to eat for days. If you want to make your pizza reheating process quick, you’re going to want to put it in the microwave, which can yield…varying results. Luckily, Domino’s recently shared a tip that will totally change that.

In a post on Domino’s Australia’s blog, they recommend putting your slice of pizza into the microwave with a half cup of water in order to make a crispier crust in a lot less time than putting it in the oven. They also recommend you heat it for about 30 seconds, but obviously this can vary based on your microwave. This tip has been floating around on the internet for a bit now, but when pizza masters like Dominos speak, we listen!

When The TODAY Show asked Institute of Culinary Education chef Palak Patel about this tip, she wasn’t too interested and instead recommended you put your slice in a hot pan with water, which is also something Domino’s alludes to in the post.

“After you get the bottom nice and crispy, add a few drops of water to the pan and cover it with a lid for about a minute,” she said.

OK, so if you’re not into either of those tricks, the Domino’s post has few other things you can try, like putting your leftover pizza in the air fryer (!!), using the toppings to create an omelette, or turning leftover crusts into a cinnamon dessert. Or you know…you can just eat cold pizza. Hits the spot every time.
