The Newest Girl Scout Cookie Flavor Will Blow Your Mind
You’d think that after the holidays we’d be totally done with sweets, ready to jump on the superfood, fruits and veggies, drinking lots of water bandwagon. But you’d be wrong, because the holidays have passed and the only thing our taste buds are dreaming about is the new Girl Scout Cookies flavor, Lemon-Ups.
Lemon-Ups are a crispy and sweet lemon cookie. Each one will have a baked-in inspiring message that relates to the core mission of the Girl Scouts, so basically every time you snack on one, you’re giving yourself a little pep talk. Messages like “I am a go-getter” and “I am an innovator” will egg you on as you devour cookie after cookie, each one empowering you to seize the day and make the most of your life (after you pick up another box of Girl Scout Cookies, that is).
The Girl Scouts have been on a roll with their newly introduced flavors in recent years. We stuffed ourselves silly with their gluten-free salted caramel chocolate chip cookies, and another gluten-free favorite, Toffee-tastic, was divine with our morning coffee. Lemon-Ups sound like they could be on their way to becoming a new classic.
Now, there is some news that will strike certain GSC fans as tragic. Lemon-Ups are replacing Savannah Smiles in locations where those were *the* lemon cookie. However, boxes of Lemonades, the lemon-iced shortbread cookies, will still be available.
Speaking of those iconic GSC boxes — this year, they’re getting an update. The cookies will be sold with new, updated packaging, featuring new images of Girl Scouts participating in adventures like canoeing, designing robots, and working in their communities. Hey, as long as the cookies continue to taste amazing, we don’t care if they’re served in a brown paper bag!
If you’re anxious to stock up on the newest Girl Scout Cookie flavor, the troops in your area will most likely be selling cookies from January-April. Search for a local Girl Scout cookie seller on the Scout’s website, and get ready to stock your pantry with a year’s worth of delicious desserts!
