Doing This First Thing In The Morning Can Boost Your Energy Levels
Finding enough energy to conquer the day ahead can be hard enough at the best of times but in Winter, the chilly temps just make you want to roll over and hit snooze continuously until it’s officially summer again.
Fortunately, there is something you can do to avoid feeling sluggish and lethargic all day: stretching for just 10 minutes in the morning. The best part is you can do it in your pyjamas in front of the heater.
“Stretching makes you feel better instantly. It allows for full mobility and range, helping you develop muscle structure and helping the muscles function efficiently and correctly,” Renee Scott, former professional ballerina and founder of Barre Attack told HuffPost Australia.
“By lengthening the tight muscles we can realign our body to function as efficiently as possibly, allowing us to go about our daily life feeling more energised.”
Stretching improves blood flow to the muscles and brain – which makes you feel energetic. Stretching in the AM can also help lengthen out tight muscles after a night’s sleep.
Also you know that 3pm slump at work? Instead of going for a coffee, try stretching. Keep hydrated and try and get up and walk around every half hour, she advises.
